I woke up with a start.
What time is it? 4:12am
This single parent thing is a lot of pressure, especially for the Easter Bunny. I couldn't believe I hadn't set an alarm for midnight like I usually do. I only had a couple of hours that I could count on all of the princesses being asleep.
In my townhouse it's a little harder to be sneaky than in my last place. It's so open that you can hear EVERYTHING that happens in the rest of the house. I've taken to sleeping with a fan in my room just for some white noise. I digress..
I slipped on my sneaky feet and tip-toed downstairs. I had to turn on the kitchen lights which meant I was risking that some light might be visible in the girls' rooms. Yikes....was that one of them getting out of bed? No. My mind is just playing tricks.
The Target bags were as loud as lightening but I emptied them quickly. Wait, what is the Easter Cake doing in there? It was supposed to be refrigerated. rats.
My warrior mom adrenaline was pumping at full tilt so loading hollow Easter Eggs with chocolate candy in Guinness World Record time was a snap. I started hiding them and realized that when you only have one real piece of furniture (besides the egg repelling kitchen table) you have very few choices for hiding spots. I persevered.
Done. Finally. With an hour (at least) to spare.
Ahhh..... Wait.
What's today?
SATURDAY!
Now where did I hide all those #^&*&%$ eggs?
Nooooo!!!!
At least you're ahead of the game for tomorrow...right? And as my boys often say, "Don't worry, mom. It's all about the candy." (Or money, in the case of the oh-so-flakey tooth fairy!)

Hmmm. Sounds like something your mother would do! Sorry for that genetic thing, kid.
Love, Mom
