Every year I have a big brunch on New Year's Day to celebrate the birth of my last daughter and to celebrate the birth of the year.
I cook and cook and cook (what? shut up). Then we eat and laugh and have an amazing time (it's my favorite event of the entire year.
This year I got a new chaffing dish to go with the "twins". That's what everyone in the neighborhood call's Bambi's two matching chaffing dishes that we all borrow for big events. Stepford is awesome, get over it.
While I always spray Bambi's pans with PAM prior to making the creme brulee french toast in them I didn't treat mine because I was only putting scrambled eggs in it. Big mistake.
I have scrubbed that thing these three weeks and soaked it and put it through the antibacterial cycle. I'd done everything I can think to do. Guess what finally got it off....salt.
a cup of Hot water. two cups of Salt. and it was like magic. I wish I had discovered this before Bambi needed to use it a week ago...but now I know.
Go to Works for me Wednesday for more great tips.
Wow, cool! I had no idea that would work!

Oh, thanks for this! Also, I saw our maintanence (sp?) gal at church put a cup of salt with a cup (or so) of ice in a dirty coffee carafe -swish it - swirl it around, and it came out spotless...
Salt - it's a GOOD thing ;-D
