So, for some of our relatives they made boa fleece scarves.
We think they turned out great.
And it was sooooo much fun. We had an absolute ball making them.
Actually, these pictures don't do them justice. They are very cute (especially the pink and purple).
They are basically short strips of fleece tied to one long strip of fleece. This was the fun part. The tying and the talking while we tied. It's mindless really and so we got to make each other laugh (there were many, many fart jokes - we're classy like that).
We went to Jo-Ann Fabrics on Wednesday night and cut all the colors we liked. Then we had them hold it for us until the sale started on Friday. We are sooo clever -- we didn't have to wait in line to get our fabric cut. The selection was all there, there was literally nothing back behind the counter waiting to be restocked. It was sheer heaven (see what I did there, sheers are used to cut the fabric). Ha...you can see why we had so much fun making the scarves.
So, the fleece was all ready for us when it went on sale on Friday. We saved thousands of dollars. Thousands.of.dollars. Okay it might have saved me about $25...but this time of year that's like thousands.
Cut a yard length of fleece
Cut strips of fleece 1" wide by 6"
Then tie the strips onto the length in a pattern. Every once in a while we would twist the tassels around so they would be fluffy.
It becomes this adorable, magical thing.
