The girls and I have been eating at home almost exclusively. Poverty has some benefits. One of the treats we've come to enjoy is red velvet cupcakes frosted (heavily, ahem) with cream cheese frosting.
We do not make them from scratch. what? shut it. Try and remember who's blog you've stumbled upon. However, if you want to try that, Paula Deen has a descent recipe here.
We have tested out several different cake mixes. We've tasted several different cans of frosting and we now have a royal recommendation:
Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Cake Mix
Betty Crocker Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting
Seriously, we've tried a lot of brand and those two are the best. I looked for some online coupons to accompany these recommendations but unfortunately, could find none.
Hmmm. They look delicious, but tiny! So, if I make them can I call them "diet"?

I love red velvet cake! YUMMO!! Cake mixes are the way to go, do you honestly think bakerys' work from scratch??? NOPE! Of course your cream cheese frosting is soo easy to make and I be you will like yours more! Follow the directions for buttercream and exchange the butter for cream cheese, You will probably need to cut the recipe in half, unless you really do frost heavily (cream cheese, powdered sugar and a lil milk, vanilla for flavor)!
