Princess LuLu is an artist. We can't keep paper in the house because she draws on every scrap of paper that she can get her hands on...
So, this morning when one of her pages (with the first third of her comic book about a book worm who lives in a book store that she's been drawing on it) went missing she was panicked. Her panic caused her to be unkind to Princess CoCo who was helping her look. Her panic caused her to be whiney with her mother. She was devastated that all of her hard work and creativity was lost, maybe forever.
Anyone who's ever had a hard drive crash probably knows that feeling.
Anyhow, I am looking for suggestions on how to store her copious amounts of artwork in a more organized manner. She has a lot of little notebooks, and sketch books and pads of paper but she stores them randomly throughout her world. I don't know why she's like that (what? that's very unkind).
I keep all of Ellie's ... uh, "treasures" in a three-ring binder. Cause our fridge would fall over if I taped everything she made to the front of it.

Bones used to keep EVERY scrap that he ever wrote on. Then he would cut pictures out of magazines and toy packages. So I used empty tissue boxes, covered in plain paper (which he colored on too), and kept one in his room and one in the living room. Then he had a place to deposit all of the little lovelies. If it's stuff that she wants to have access to regularly, you might want to try shoe boxes... let her decorate them, then it feels like hers :)

How about a clear plastic container w/lid labeled "Lulu's Art." There might be things that Coco and Mimi would want to have a container for too.

Maybe an idea for scrapbooking?

My kid likes to keep his stuff organized. While he is a rough and tumble "all boy" kind of boy he is also a tad...anal.
I bought one of those plastic file boxes. I have hanging file folders that describe what he is sorting: Books he made at school, projects from art class, alphabet pages, math pages, etc. It makes him very happy.

If you need something bigger...I went to Let's Learn by the mall. It has teacher supplies and there are these great stand-up boxes with a flip up lid that are for poster storage, but it is what I put all of the boys art projects in. Check this site to see what it looks like. It even has files to separate the items. You can come see mine if you would like. http://www.business-supply.com/trend-file-'n-save-chart-storage-system_113323.html

I put the kids papers and school papers I want to keep in a large, 3 ring binder!! 2 inch binder should last a while! You will also need a three hole punch!

I keep a "treasure box" and we decide with the children which piece of treasure will go into the box for the week.
I also use the much larger pieces for wrapping up grandparents presents.

When the drawings are done, you could scan them into the computer and keep them in a file. You could then display them as a slideshow screensaver instead of on your fridge. When a new "copy" is needed you can just print it out or print them out in colorbook mode and have the princess recolor them. You could also then send them to brother and mother (grandmother) via email so they could enjoy the artwork also. You could also post them here so we could see the famous artwork, too! :-)

I use those plastic file holder things for my bills. And they expand and have a rubber bandy thing that keeps them shut. Maybe that?
